Terms and Conditions

Effective date: May 23, 2026

Use of DropDroid

DropDroid is provided as a utility for transferring files between devices that the user owns or has permission to use. The user is responsible for the files they choose to transfer and for complying with applicable laws, licenses, workplace policies, and device policies.

APK installation

DropDroid may offer an optional APK install helper. This helper can open Android's system installer after an APK is received, but it cannot silently install apps. Android requires user confirmation and may require the user to allow installs from this source.

Local network requirements

DropDroid depends on local reachability between the desktop sender and Android device. Firewalls, router isolation, VPNs, captive portals, or restricted networks may prevent transfers.

Open-source license

DropDroid is distributed under the MIT License. Source code and license details are available at github.com/tjdam007/DropDroid.

No warranty

DropDroid is provided without warranties of any kind. The maintainers do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every device or network, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the maintainers are not liable for damages arising from use of DropDroid, transferred files, network configuration, device settings, or third-party software installed by the user.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of DropDroid after an update means the user accepts the updated terms.
